跨國金獎製作莎翁經典傳奇劇《暴風雨》

三度榮獲英國戲劇及音樂劇最重要獎項—奧立佛獎(Oliver Award)肯定，英國重量級導演迪克蘭‧唐納倫(Declan Donnellan)，以英式極簡的場景及燈光，運用現代的手法，重新詮釋英國戲劇文豪莎士比亞經典悲喜劇《暴風雨》(The Tempest)。唐納倫天才般的導演手法，全面性的劇場風格，使他深受英國觀眾肯定，也榮獲法國政府頒發的文化騎士勳章，及俄國金面具獎「最佳導演獎」。
《暴風雨》由俄國契訶夫國際戲劇節(Chekhov International Theatre Festival)及法國國立傑默劇院(Théâtre Les Gemeaux Scène Nationale)跨國共製，另有唐納倫創立的「與你同行劇團」(Cheek by Jowl)協力製作，網羅俄羅斯當代影視劇場紅星，堪稱俄羅斯劇場界的夢幻陣容，演員以正宗俄式寫實風格，爐火純青地詮釋莎士比亞傳奇經典！《暴風雨》2011年1月於法國巴黎世界首演18場，立即獲得極大的迴響，『費加洛報』盛讚為「大膽、饒富趣味、近乎完美的演出，絕不可錯過！」
After Twelfth Night in 2008, Declan Donnellan and his Russian actors are coming to Taiwan again for the Tempest, the last work by William Shakespeare.Integrating contemporary phenomenons Shakespeare wrote this play about four hundred years ago and Donnellan cleverly blended in the post-Soviet phenomenons in his modern interpretation. For example, in the wedding scene, the actors would perform a Scythian dance with wooden masks and a communist propaganda film in the background. The original lyrics are used in a ironical way to bless the newlyweds with a rich and prosperous life. The invasion of capitalism is depicted in a scene when Stephano, Caliban and Trinculo get drunk and steal in a “proper way”. It seems some parts of humanity hasn’t changed over 400 years. Whether England in the 17th century or contemporary Russia (perhaps even the shopaholic folk in Taiwan), the people tend to be fouled by fancy appearance and go by cheap ways.Creative personification of the characters The characters of Shakespearian plays are often enacted in a rather limited way, however Donnellan and his actors successfully capture the characters with various personalities. Not taking the simple scheme with a wonderful protagonist versus an evil antagonist, Donnellan makes the duke and magician Prospero sitting in the center of stage in the opening scene, looking like an inmate. While Miranda, a beautiful, angel-like girl in the original script, grew up with wicked Caliban in this interpretation, resulting in her wild behaviors comparable to a wolf.
