派特‧馬堤諾曾獲得獎項包括爵士雜誌 Downbeat 讀者票選2004年年度吉他手；唱片方面數次獲葛萊美最佳爵士器樂專輯、最佳爵士器樂獨奏等提名；2006年新專輯【向蒙哥馬利致敬】被電台 JazzWeek 選為2006年百大專輯第一名。來自於費城，屹立樂壇30年，馬堤諾的奮鬥故事使他被稱為「不死鳥」。1980年的腦瘤手術使他喪失記憶，數十年的吉他演奏與技巧突然變成空白，他靠著不斷聆聽過去自己的錄音，與努力練習蒙哥馬利的曲子，花費數年時間終於找回遺失的演奏記憶，1987年於紐奧良重出江湖，他的毅力與成就至今仍備受爵士樂界尊崇。首度抵台將帶給觀眾最感動的聲音。
Born in Philadelphia in 1944, Pat Martino has continued his career for over thirty years. Although the diagnosis of aneurysm and the surgery in 1980 made him lose his memory and the performing skills, and was pushed to regain his abilities by listening his own recording in the past and practiced again and again Martino restarted his career in 1987 and his success becomes a legend in the jazz wor1d Martino has garnered the “Guitarist of the Year” of Downbeat (Readers’ Choice) in 2004. He has also been nominated for the Grammy Award for several times. The album“Remember: A Tribute to Wes Montgomery”has won the first place of the “Topmost One Hundred Album 2006”of the JazzWeek . His premiere in Taiwan will definitely impress all the audiences hear him play.
