「去」,動詞:往、到、出發、事情的進行。 「去」,動詞:離開、死亡、除掉、失去。 在「去」字的多重意義中,《去自由》在編舞及內容上針對「自由」此一主題拆解、研討、延伸,以有機發展的方式與結構,表現自由的可能、限度、矛盾與平衡。舞者的身體與設計群營造的劇場環境之間,試圖在當下,時而各自、時而齊心地尋找「去自由」的多種可能,其間有共容的依存或相互角力的時刻,以產生自由的辯證關係。編舞者的角色是另一種權力辯證的存在,跳脫傳統編舞不易撼動的結構與動作框架,嘗試抹除結構與框架的邊界,容納舞者和設計群更自由的發揮和發展交互關係,並有更多創作靈思生成於當下。然而,又不得不令人思考,編舞者給予的自由,是否早已操縱另一個看不見的界線?
In Freedom tries to expound, research, and extend the theme of ‘freedom’ in its content and chorography by presenting the possibility, limitation, contraction and balance of freedom with organic development and composition. It attempts at each moment to seek for the possibilities of ‘in freedom’ individually or jointly for the debate about freedom in dancers’ bodies and the theatrical environment created by the design team. During this process, there are moments when the dancers depend on each other, but also moments when they wrestle against each other. The role of the choreographer is another ever-present component of power. Nevertheless, this work tries to escape from the framework not only of the traditional relationship between the choreographer and the team, but also the structure of choreographic movement. It tries to erase boundaries in structure and organization allowing the dancers and the design team to liberally interchange ideas and to create more inspiring work through instant stimulation. However, it is arguable that the choreographer giving freedom might become another invisible dominating direction!
