About Objects (Work in Progress Showing) Tapping on one’s back, you hear the sound of clicking on an empty glass. Compressing one’s body, you hear the sound of scrunching papers. Putting a finger into the other’s ear, you hear the sound of consciousness. Through the monitoring speakers on the stage, performers juxtapose sounds, physical movements and objects, combining sounds and visuals into an illusive fusion. By separating souls from bodies, the value of human beings’ existence is vividly re-portrayed on the stage. About Under the Horizon (Work in Progress Showing) As a collaboration between artists from Taiwan and Japan, HUANG Yi and Ryoichi Kurokawa teamed up in Under the Horizon, pouring subconsciousness into shadows- shadows separated from bodies, emerging from walls and grounds, and crawling out of the frontiers of lights. Are they reminiscences of reality or illusions of human beings’ subconsciousness? By means of technology, shadows are torn, dissolved, and intertwined, drawing all different forms occurring in the ever changing life, consistently evolving between abstract and concrete formats, and eventually are compressed into the world of Under the Horizon.
