歌仔戲早期演出時並無麥克風、擴音器等音響傳輸設備,那年代演員們是如何在有文武場及環境吵雜的市場、廟埕等場域進行說唱表演?現代的演藝入員相對於在有利聲音表演的現代劇場空間,反而對電子擴音設備產生了依賴。透過電子擴音設備將音量調節放大,對音色修改潤飾,諸多的過度運用,已經讓大部分現代演員和觀眾都習慣在這「失真」的狀態裡。

標榜「肉聲」演唱的歌仔戲傳統,對運氣、發聲和咬字腔口上的要求,逐漸受到電子擴音的影響,在美感和質感上起了巨大變化。

本次《原聲歌仔》不插電歌仔音樂會所要探討的主題,期望在具有優良建築反響條件的表演廳中,拋棄掉多餘的擴音輔助,讓演唱和伴奏的「原聲」,在空氣中清晰且忠實地傳送到每一個觀眾的耳裡。這不僅僅是對表演空間的條件測試,更是對演員唱功、樂團伴奏能力的考驗,找回歌仔戲自然原聲的生命力與穿透力。

合於建築殘響標準的「衛武營表演廳」,是本次音樂會進行原聲演唱對應現場文武場伴奏的實驗空間。利用建築本體的物理傳遞,計畫中將以獨唱和折子戲二種表演方式,搭配 3 人到最多 12 人的不同樂團編制,並利用演員與文武場相對位置的改變,測試較適當的聲音平衡,以達到最佳的聽覺效果。

薪傳歌仔戲劇團演員承襲著廖瓊枝老師的系統教學,唱腔唱法在歌仔戲劇圈中獨具風格,為展現不同的發聲方式與演唱風格,將邀請生旦丑全能的新科國家藝師小咪老師、擁有深厚台灣傳統唱唸內涵的陳文山老師ヽ南部知名歌仔戲團「春美歌劇團」的演員郭春美和簡嘉誼ヽ乾生古翊汎、新秀張閔鈞等,這些各具演唱特色的演員們,將在同一個場域中接受聲音能力的互相比對。而針對本次音樂會,我們將在每一場演出後開放現場觀眾與演員、學者、衛武營專家代表等,針對本次表演形式,進行一次開創性的交流座談。期待這場「不插電」的表演形式,能為臺灣的歌仔戲帶來劃時代的成果。

In early Taiwanese opera performances, audio transmission equipment such as microphones and loudspeakers were not yet available. How did these actors make their performances heard over the loud music, noisy markets, and temples? In modern theater spaces that favor sound, performers now rely on additional equipment to make electronic adjustments that modify tone and amplifies sound; this excessive use creates a 'distortion' that most actors and audiences have become accustomed to.

Traditional Taiwanese opera performances that once celebrated 'authenticity' as well as skillsets that combine luck, vocalization and tone was gradually influenced by electronic amplification, and caused great changes in the beauty and texture of the craft.

In our Songs of Authentic Voice performance we present original performances in a music hall with excellent architectural amplification, discarding redundant electronics to faithfully highlight the originality of vocal song and tunes, allowing only air to transmit waves of sound that are sure to move the audience. Not only does this test performance space conditions, but also poses a test toward the actor's singing and orchestra's performance skills. We hope to revive the penetrating vitality that once distinguished Taiwanese opera.

Weiwuying Concert Hall is architecturally designed to project sound reverberations and the designated experimental space for our vocal and acoustic performance. We incorporate the building's transmissive character in solo and eclectic performances with an orchestra ranging from 3 to 12 people, changing the relative position between the actors and the orchestra to test optimized auditory balance.

Through systematic methods, the actors of Shintrun Taiwanese Opera Troupe inherit founder LIAO Chiung-chih's vocalization techniques that are unique to the craft. To fully demonstrate of different vocalized methods and singing styles, we invited recognized artist XIAO Mi, master of traditional performances CHEN Wen-shan, GUO Chun-mei and JIAN Jia-yi from the famous southern Chunmei Taiwanese Opera Troupe, and actors GU Yi-fan as well as ZHANG Min-jun, to add their distinct character to our acoustic experiment.
