以20世紀初期對西方音樂產生重大衝擊的《春之祭》為壓軸，上半場曲目呼應非洲、亞洲文化對西方音樂所引發的省思。
梅湘的《被遺忘的奉獻》於1931年問世，是他第一首公開發表的管絃創作。當年作曲家首度聽到印尼甘美朗（Gamelan）的演出，一如德布西被異國的節奏模式和音色所深深吸引，梅湘也開啟了對打擊樂的興趣。
在2010年台灣國際藝術節中以一個小鼓、兩支鼓棒震撼全場的擊樂明星葛魯賓格，將以多爾曼的《香料、香水、毒素》雙擊樂協奏曲重返台北。
這首以中東、印度地區鼓樂混合交響樂擊樂群組的作品，從描繪令人沉迷的物質著手：讓食物風味加成的各式調味香料、教人不自覺迷戀的性感香水氣味、容易成癮又有致命吸引力的迷幻藥，這首曲子也一樣，將會讓你我深陷葛魯賓格與多爾曼的音樂之中。

The orchestra became an artistic affi1iate of the National Chiang Kai-Shek Cultura1 Center in 2005. The NSO continues to flourish, receiving government support and enjoying a growing audience base from its inception. It has given thousands of concerts, launched many educational programs, and hosted several music activities mostly at its resident venue, the Nationa1loncert Hall in Taipei. Tour performances were a1so regularly offered throughout Taiwan and overseas, in p1aces such as Vienna, Paris, Berlin, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Sapporo, Tokyo, Yokohama and Hong Kong.
