《與我‧相逢在宇宙盡頭》

國中生哈利，身處在「學校」食物鏈中的最底層。日復一日提心吊膽、沒來由被戲耍欺凌的校園生活，只能沈默的忍耐。

這一日，哈利終於捱到了放學，躲回自己小小的房間裡......「未來的自己」卻突如其來地造訪了，非但對哈利的困境無法提出任何實質幫助，甚至讓他徹底對未來失去了憧憬。房間裡出現的高貴王子，自稱是哈利於平行世界的相對存在，繼承宇宙王位聽起來誘人，但真實的情況卻更令人絕望。

當未來不堪等待，身份替換也無濟於事，更顯得苦難綿綿無盡，多方擠壓之下，那個躲藏在哈利心中的力量一旦出現，會是他唯一的救贖嗎？哈利嚮往著的「宇宙盡頭」，是成人眼中的荒誕、不切質際，卻或許是他唯一可依賴的寄託。

因為漫畫、電玩、電影等科幻題材「平行時空」、「時空旅行」對青少年來說，不是艱澀的專有名詞，而是理所當然的一種可能性。這個製作並非討論如何解決校園霸凌問題，卻是將「哈利」的多重身份齊聚一堂，從多重自我的對話中，擁抱撫慰受傷的心靈，並試圖呈現青少年眼中的「真實」。

《鼻子記》

「氣味」可以騷動記憶，轉換情緒；劇場，不再只是視覺和聽覺。

從鼻子進入，直達腦門，讓氣味來說故事，鼻子帶領你，用你的眼睛來嗅聞我。

這齣戲在去年的11月發想，我帶著簡短的劇本到泰國，在12月曼谷戲劇節的小劇場裡‧與英國同窗的泰國友人 Bua，作了一場有趣的實驗，我們在小劇場裡讓演員用油漆從戲的開頭，開始畫各種與情節相關的國在劇場牆壁上，直到戲的結尾，每天結束的時候再用油漆把劇場漆黑，隔天再大蓋一番，有一種破壞的快感；另外，在戲裡我們大量的使用氣味，整個劇場煙霧瀰漫，混合著艾草香、雪茄昧、消毒藥水、快炒海鮮等，每天去排戲、演出的時候，我的心情是期待而且亢奮的。嗅覺變成觀戲經驗的一部分，帶著氣味作為演出的元素，我把這個想法擴大延長，變成今天的《鼻子記》劇本，在和演員即興的過程中，把演員自身的氣味記憶融入劇本，再加入一些氣味的故事。

許多朋友問我這齣戲想表達什麼，我想說許多關於氣味的故事，那些在特定環境的味道，那些可能是共同記憶的氣味，譬如說醫院、公共交通工具、鄉間田野、我希望在觀看的同時，氣味這個強大的媒介，可以把觀眾更快的帶入情境裡。

《鼻子記》希望鼻子成為觀眾看戲的一部分，其實這個觀點並不太新，以味道作為元素，早在四五十年前的美國就已有藝術工作者嘗試過，不過觀眾評語都不太好，哈哈......雖然好像選擇了一個不太討喜的手法，但總之我們在劇場作了這樣一個小趣味，邀請觀眾深呼吸和我們一起體驗。

Encounters in Space At school, Harry is like the lowest prey on the food chain. Day after day he lives in fear, enduring peer bullying. One day, when he finally retreats to his own room after school, he finds himself being visited by the Self from the future. Instead of helping out, the Future Self shatters Harry’s dreams for a better time. Meanwhile, a Prince appears, claiming that he is Harry’s alternative self from the parallel universe. Harry is made a tempting offer to inherit the Prince’s throne. But the truth about this proposal turns out to be something devastating. The future no longer seems hopeful; swapping identities no longer helpful; and the misery seems endless. Will all of these force Han-y's hidden strength to come out and become his ultimate redemption? The Smell of... Using the mood shifting smells. Making the theatre more than a visual-auditory performance. Stories told through the smell. Spectators led by their noses. The initial of this play took place on last November when I teamed up with Thai artist Bua-my old classmate from London-to start an interesting experiment for the Bangkok Theatre Festival 2008. We had the actors create scene-related oil-painting pictures on the wall throughout the whole show. We ended every day by painting the wall black, and started another day by painting new pictures, and very much enjoyed the seemingly destructive process. Meanwhile, we incorporated various smells in the show -the smell of Artemisia, cigar, disinfectant, or seafood- making the smells become part of the theatre experience. It was an exciting concept. The further development of such concept gave birth to today’s play. During the creative improvisation process of this play, the actors aJl came up with di在erent smell-aroused memories and together completed a series of smell-related stories. I want to tell various stories about smells, especially the smells which preserve people’s shared memories, like the smell of hospital, or public transportation, or countryside, etc. I hope that the scent can function as a powerful agent which swiftly brings audience into the story. About 50 years ago, American artists have already tried out the method to include scent as a theatrical element, though it didn’t seem welcomed at that time. Today we launch this charming little experiment in the theatre and would like to invite everyone to “inhale” in this sensorial trip.
