NSO 2006 / 2007 樂季將以理查‧史特勞斯歌劇代表作《玫瑰騎士》精采壓軸！完成於20世紀初的《玫瑰騎士》，敘述一位年華芳盛的元帥夫人與年輕伯爵的婚姻外遇，爾後伯爵又遇上令他傾心的富家姑娘。這段三角戀情的愛情遊戲，在元帥夫人「顧全大局」自願退場之後，造就了一樁美事。全劇風格承襲自18世紀的莫札特式喜劇，劇情雖然描述上流社會不知民間疾苦的荒誕情愛故事，但在幽默諷刺之餘，有著深刻的惕世意味。
The last production of 06107 NSO Season will feature Richard Strauss' 3-act comic opera Der Rosenkavalier (The Cavalier of the Rose) in a joint production with Deutsche Oper am Rhein. It is the first time that the full staged Der Rosenkavalier is presented in Taiwan. Although the plot is about the upper class pursues personal desires, power and love, the meaning behind the nonsense and buffooneries is deeper than what it may seem. Der Rosenkavalier will bring in the full set of costumes, scenes and props as well as principal singers from Deutsche Oper am Rhein. The classical designs and elaborate costumes in the late 18th centuty style, based on the production of Otto Schenk, will be a new visual and opera experience for the audiences in Taiwan.
