隋煬帝徵召數百萬人開鑿「大運河」貫穿南北，民怨四起，反對勢力持續升溫，遍地開花；大業六年，煬帝將率三十萬大軍，二度乘龍舟遊江都以宣示國威。華燈初上，楊素司空府冠蓋雲集，一場餞別盛宴即將開始⋯⋯

In the late Sui Dynasty, the oppressive regimes of the old dynasty pushed through a massive infrastructure undertaking. Emperor Yang of Sui ordered to complete the Grand Canal, causing disruption to millions of lives through forced labor that instigated mass dissent across the nation.
