伯納‧赫曼:《驚魂記》配樂序曲與插曲〈謀殺〉



1960年發行的《驚魂記》,由希區考克 ( Alfred Joseph Hirchcock ) 導演,敘述一位過著雙重人格的旅館主人。某日一位女客人前來投宿,他將她殺死在浴室內。這場浴室謀殺的戲特別有名,伯納‧赫曼 ( Bernard Herrmann,1911‧1975 ) 以小提琴急躁有如利刃般的音色表現緊張的情緒,將影像與聲音的結合發揮至最高的藝術境界。



 



約翰‧威廉斯《吸血鬼》配樂精選



史托克 ( Bram Sroker ) 的經典小說【達古拉】 ( Dracula ) 描寫家喻戶曉的吸血鬼故事,中文片名《月黑風高》 ( Dracula ) 是導演巴德漢 ( John Badham ) 於1979年完成的版本。威廉斯依循傳統的手法創作這部電影的配樂,主題十分傳神,描繪功力精準。



 



丹尼‧葉夫曼《聖誕夜驚魂》配樂組曲



1993年的發行的電影《聖誕夜驚魂》,描述一個奇想的聖誕節。為了配合故事的劇情,因此配樂脫離不了一絲的鬼魅與滑稽,甚至是瘋癲與搞怪。由於電影中有許多演唱的片段,且為了搭配誇張的戲劇效果,因此運用了許多音樂劇常見的旋律表現手法。



 



丹尼‧葉夫曼:《陰間大法師》主題曲



《陰間大法師》為1988年上映的電影。為了呼應這部黑色喜劇可笑又詭怪的氣氛,音樂也運用了許多不和諧音來表現逗趣的一面,彷彿馬戲團的雜耍配樂,繽紛多采,高潮送起。「主題」是原聲帶中最精采的作品,熱鬧古怪而且靈氣四逸,旋律、編曲與人聲的運用都獨樹一幟。



 



丹尼‧葉夫曼《剪刀手愛德華》主題曲與插曲〈冰之舞〉



1990年的電影。〈冰之舞〉描寫電影中的男主角愛德華為心愛的女孩完成了美麗的冰雕,而女孩在飛雪中起舞的情景。這是一首浪漫溫柔的旋律,搭配人聲的吟詠,讓浪漫的旋律更增感人的氛圍。



 



丹尼‧葉夫曼《蝙蝠俠》組曲



《蝙幅俠》於1989年上映。「主題」有一種開天闢地的狀闊感。在一段短暫的導引樂段之後,馬上湧現奔騰的高潮氣勢,按著又有許多情緒轉折的片段,似乎是在預告電影中的每個精采片段。丹尼葉夫曼 ( Danny Elfman, 1953~ ) 靠著編曲的功力將它變化成高潮送起的「主題」樂章。



 



約翰‧莫里斯《新科學怪人》插曲〈德蘭斯斐尼亞搖籃曲〉



1975年的發行電影。故事描述年輕的法蘭克斯坦博士在祖父的城堡中,無意中發現了一本筆記本,記錄著如何造人的方式。在駝背人伊哥與性感野性的伊加幫助下,加上偷回來的腦,根據祖父的科學實驗資料,成功製造了一具怪物科學怪人。可惜,偷回來的腦出了問題,導致科學怪人出走尋找渴望的真愛。



 



約翰威廉斯《紫屋魔戀》插曲〈惡魔之舞〉



《紫屋魔戀》為1987年發行的電影,配樂會獲得奧斯卡金像獎原著音樂的提名。這是約翰‧威廉斯 ( John Williams,1932~ ) 寫過最出色的主題作品之一,也是一首獨一無二的作品,主題旋律輕盈滑稽,古靈精怪,編曲手法繁複多變,邪氣十足。此曲亦有小提琴與鋼琴二重奏的改編版,精采的樂器對談,完全是以古典的作曲手法來表現,可見作曲者對古典音樂的熟稔程度,卻又能兼顧通俗音樂的親切性。



 



伯納‧赫曼《怪屍案》插曲〈希區考克肖像〉



新英格蘭幽靜美麗的風景區突然傳出三聲槍響,只見一具屍體橫躺在地上。村裡沒人見到兇手。在少年、老兩台長、淑女、畫家、流浪漢、醫生等人發現屍體後,各自心存疑惑。不久,死者竟又出現,怪屍疑雲令人愈加迷惑。〈希區考克肖像〉是改編自《怪屍案》電影配樂的演奏曲,由數個片段組成,有著較高的旋律性,與滑稽的特質。1955年發行的電影《怪屍案》是赫曼與希區考克首次合作的配樂作品。



 



伯納‧赫曼《黑衣新娘》情境曲



《黑衣新娘》 ( La Mariee etait en noir/The Bride Wore Black ) 於1968上映,為法國新浪潮導演楚浮 ( Francois Truffaut ) 向他最崇拜的導演希區考克致敬之作。描寫一名剛結婚的丈夫在步出教堂時就遭五名醉漢在嬉戲中誤殺,含恨的新娘逐一追查出五名兇手,然後用不同的方法把他們殺死。片中反覆出現的配樂是經過變奏的「婚禮進行曲」女主角茱麗葉與丈夫從教堂裡出來的情景也不斷再現:兩人攜手走下臺階,正準備偕老,沒想到奪命的子彈卻意外飛來。



 



傑瑞‧高史密斯《小精靈2》配樂充滿滑稽喜感的電影



《小精靈》於1984年上映。故事描述:比利的爸爸在唐人街買了一份聖誕禮物送給他,並要他遵守三項規定‧一、別讓它接觸水;二、別讓它接觸陽光;三、千萬不要午夜後餵食。然而小比利並沒有遵照爸爸的指示,小精靈便以倍數急劇增長,小鎮的聖誕夜也因此變成群魔亂舞的狂歡夜。第二集描述這些魔怪接觸了實驗室的各項基因,變得更加難纏,比利只好再次想辦法對付這些怪物。怪異的故事,配上異國情調的旋律,更加凸顯小精靈的詭異性。



 



馬克‧夏曼:《阿達一族》配樂精選



《阿達一族》的故事由美國的漫畫家亞當斯 ( Charles Addams ) 所創造,揉合了恐怖與幽默,以怪異的阿達一家成員為主角,描述他們顯破常人的日常生活經歷。馬克‧夏曼 ( Marc Shaiman, 1959- ) 以古典的作曲手法,為這部充滿娛樂性的黑色喜劇電影點綴出高貴與鬼魅的氣氛。配樂中經常出現圓舞曲 ( Waltz ) 的節奏,以這種雍容又帶著夢幻的曲風,用來描述怪誕卻自認品味不俗的「阿達」一家人,以及那對早已是老夫老妻,卻仍整日愛得死去活來的男女主人,的確十分貼切。



 



 

BERNARD HERRMANN: Prelude & “The Murder” from Psycho Psycho released in 1960 is directed by Alfred Joseph Hitchcock. 1r is about a hotel owner who lives a life of dual personality. One day a lady comes to spend the night at the hotel and he kills her while she is in the shower. The movie is especially family for this murder scene in the bathroom and Bernard Herrmann (1 911.1975) created a nervous atmosphere by using screeching violin music, linking image perfectly with music, a display of his highest artistic level. JOHN WILLlAMS: Music from Dracula Dracula, a classic by Bram Stoker, depicts the widely known vampire tale and has been adapted into countless variations rill today. The film Dracula is director John Badham's version in 1979. Williams applied a traditional method in the making of this score expressing a vivid theme with his great depicting ability. DANNY ELFMAN: Suite from The Nightmare Before Christmas Released in 1993, The Nightmare Before Christmas depicts a peculiar Christmas holiday. 1n order to suit the plot of the story, the score could not avoid being ghostly and groresqlle or even crazy and prankish. Dlle to rhe massive use of vocal performance in the film and for the sake of an exaggerated dramatic effect, the film utilizes many elemenrs which are commonly seen in musicals. DANNY ELFMAN: Main Title from Beetlejuice Beetlejuice was released in 1988. In order to respond to the morbid comic and quirky atmosphere of this comedy horror film, the music of the movie applied many dissonances ro display its playful side. The main tide, the best sound in the entire album, expresses a festive, eccentric and ghostly atmosphere by a unique employment of melody, musical arrangement and human voices. DANNY ELFMAN: Main Title & “Ice Dance” fromEdward Scissorhands “Ice Dance” from Edward Scissorhands a 1990 film, portrays how the main character Edward carves a beautiful ice sculpture for me girl he loves and how she dances in the falling snow. This piece has a romantic and soft melody which intermingles with vocal chanting, making it even more touching. DANNY ELFMAN: Suite from Batman The movie Batman with its debut in 1989. After me lead.ins the song ;s brought to an immediate momentum, and continues with many inflective emotional passages,的 if announcing each spectacular moment of the film. Through Danny Elfman's (1953.) genius arrangement of music, he gives enthralling effects to the theme movement. JOHN MORRIS: “Transylvanian Lullaby” from Young Frankenstein Young Frankenstein, a film released in 1975.The story is about young Dr. Frankenstein who finds his grandfather’s journal on how to creat man. With the assistance of humpbacked I gor and wild and sexy Inga, and a brain that they stole for the experiment, he follows the data that his grandfather has left behind and successfully produces a monster.Frankenstein. However, the brain that they stole has a problem and Frankenstein escapes from the castle to find his true love. JOHN WILLlAMS: “The Devil's Dance” from The Witches of Eastwick The Witches of Eastwick was released in 1987 and its soundtrack was nominated as the Best Original score for the Oscars. It is one of John Williams' (1932.) greatest works and a unique piece too. The theme melody is carefree, comical and mischievous and the arrangement complicated and capriccios, giving it a devilish feature. The piece also has a violin and piano duet version, presenting the dialogue of two instruments in a c1assical style. From thus we can see the composer's knowledge of c1assical music and his genius in making it so interesting. BERNARD HERRMANN: “Portrait of Hitch” from The Trouble with Harry In a quiet and beautiful place of New England three gunshots were heard and a man lay dead on the ground. No one in the village saw the killer. When the teenager, captain, lady, artist, vagabond and doctor discovered the body, a feeling of insecurity was aroused among them. soon the deceased man was seen again and the mystery of the dead body became more and more puzzling.... “Portrait of Hitch” is adapted from the soundtrack of The Trouble with Harry. It consists of various fragments and is full of melody and absurd qualities. The film released in 1955 is Herrmann's first collator ration with Hitchcock. BERNARD HERRMANN: A Musical Scenario from The Bride Wore Black The Bride Wore Black released in 1968 was the French New Wave director Francois Truffaut's tribute to his favorite director Alfred Hitchcock. The Story depicts a groom being accidentally shot by five drunkards fooling around right after he steps out the church of his wedding ceremony. The bride taking revenge traces down the five murders and kills them each with a different method. The score that repeatedly appears is a variation form of the “Wedding March”and the image of Julie and her husband walking out of the church reappears constantly too. The couple hand in hand about to live happily ever after is disturbed by a flying bullet that takes away the groom's life. JERRY GOLDSMITH: Suite from Gremlins 2-The new Batch A ridiculously comical movie Gremlins was released in 1984. The plot: Billy's father buys him a little creature as a Christmas gift at Chinatown. He asks Billy to abide by three rules: never let it touch water, never let it near sunlight and never feed it after midnight. However Billy does not obey his father and the gremlin reproduces into multiples at a rapid speed. Christmas Eve in the town becomes a party night for these destructive evil monsters. The peculiar story presented with exotic runes makes the queer mischievous nature of gremlins even more obtrusive. MARC SHAIMAN: Tango from The Addams Family Values The story of The Addams Family was created by American cartoonist Charles Addams, who wrote about the eccentric members of the Addams family and their bizarre lifestyles with a macabre and humorous style. Marc Shaiman (1959-), who used classical music to create an elegant yet eerie atmosphere this entertaining black comedy. The rhythm of waltzes, a genre which is composed and dreamy, appears often in the score to depict the freaky family who think they have great taste and the old married couple who are still passionately in love with each other.
