莫札特的單簧管協奏曲，曲調低緩繚繞感情豐沛，是他完成的最後一首純器樂作品。此曲莫氏為好友史塔德勒自製樂器巴塞單簧管所作，莫特說：「沒有任何一種樂器能比你所演奏的巴塞單簧管更像人聲，這麼溫柔的聲音，沒有人會不被它觸動。」今日通行的單簧管版本，其實是樂譜商修改莫札特原作而成，仍然扣人心統布拉姆斯第四交響曲帶著作曲家的黄昏景色，旋律蕩氣腸又有嚴古典架構，大開大闔中又兼具民俗風情和私密獨語，是千百下的曠世巨作。
國家交響樂團在呂紹嘉的帶領下，以開創性的曲目安排及高水準的演出品質得到聽眾及樂評的肯定，他與NSO的互動更被亞洲遇刊評論發出來的吸引力，是一種對藝術美好的追求。此次，在呂紹嘉的领軍下，樂團將與《紐約太陽報》為音樂技巧的完美典範」的『單簧管世界首席』莎賓．梅耶首次合作，重現
巴塞管傳奇美聲。
Mozart's Concerto for Clarinet, permeated with deep, resonant, and mellow notes, is his last instrumental work. It was written for one of Mozart's close friends, Anton Stadler, to test the basset clarinet he had improved. Mozart wrote in his letter to Stadler, "Never would I have thought that a clarinet could be capable of imitating the human voice as deceptively as it is imitated by you. Truly your instrument has so soft and lovely a tone that nobody with a heart could resist it." The same fascinating version we hear today is a transcription by Mozart's publisher. Brahms' Symphony No. 4, his last symphony written in 1885, reveals his full insight into music and is definitely a masterpiece in music history. Built on austere classical structure, it flows with natural momentum and an appealing blend of lyric and heroic elements, folk spirit, and intimacy.

After her visit with BBC Symphony Orchestra in 2010, the world's leading clarinet virtuoso, Sabine Meyer, returns to Taiwan to collaborate with the NSO for the first time. She will play Mozart's clarinet concerto on a basset to demonstrate the beauty of this instrument.
