《湖底之鬼》是由擅長融合跨界素材的日籍音樂人櫻井弘二擔任全劇作曲與編劇創意，在笙、二胡、琵琶、大提琴、擊樂、鍵盤、電子音樂與人聲的跨界交融下，觀眾以聽覺沉浸在故事情境；編導鄭詠珊加入創意，深化創作概念，在平靜無波的湖面，一段扣人心弦的故事即將上演......

那年秋天，為了追逐湖面的光亮，六郎不慎跌入湖中，從此成為湖底之鬼；直至遇上漁夫老許，二人同喝同唱，分享人生的苦樂。

第一幕

失足跌入湖中喪命的青年因忘記名字而無法投胎，成為水鬼的他魂魄沉在湖底逐漸消散。直到一日漁夫老許的一杯清酒喚醒了他的意識，他以人形現身老許面前，兩人一見如故，每晚相約捕魚、把酒言歡，水鬼為報答杯酒之恩，為老許趕魚入網，讓他日日滿載而歸。經過半年的相處，老許其實早已知道青年是鬼，他非但沒有害怕，還一同設法讓他得到投胎轉世的機會。

第二幕

風和日麗的這一天是水鬼王六郎的投胎日，老許既擔心又好奇地來到湖邊，果然見到一位婦人不慎跌入了水中，只見她奮力掙扎卻越沉越深，當老許天人交戰該不該出手相救時，婦女卻奇蹟似地被推回了岸上......

第三幕

再次經歷生離死別的老許雖然撿回一命，卻失去了生存的意義，當他決定要放棄一切默默離開時，平日沒有太多交集的鄰居們竟然送來了不少東西給他傍身，看著這些沒什麼價值卻充滿溫暖的心意，老許逐漸意識到原來他並不孤單。

Deep Lake Man was composed and written by Japanese musician Koji SAKURAI, who has experienced in merging crossover music. The vast combination of sounds, including the sheng, erhu, pipa, cello, percussion instruments, keyboard, electronic music, and human vocals immerses audiences aurally into the story. Director CHENG Vung-san further added an original touch to the work, deepening its creative concept. Upon the calm and serene surface of the lake, a gripping story is waiting to be told...

One autumn day, Liulang accidentally falls into a lake as he chases a beam of light on the surface. He becomes a ghost that dwells at the bottom of the lake. He then meets the fisherman HSU, and the two strike up a friendship through drinking, singing, and sharing the joy and pain of life. 

Although humans and ghosts have divergent paths, they form a sincere friendship, one that is enough to touch both humans and gods and nourish the earth...

Act I

The ghost of a young man, WANG Liulang, who drowned after losing his footing and falling into a lake, has been unable to reincarnate as a result of forgetting his own name. Having nowhere to go, the ghost gradually disintegrates at the bottom of the lake until, one day, it is reawakened with a cup of wine from a fisherman named HSU. Taking human form, the ghost appears to HSU, and the two click right away as if they were old friends. They meet every night to enjoy fishing, drinking, and talking together. As an act of appreciation for the wine, the ghost scares massive amounts of fish into HSU's net each night. Six months pass in this way, and HSU has long been aware of whom this friend really is, yet he is not afraid; in fact, he starts helping the ghost figure out how to reincarnate. 

Act II

On the beautiful day that Liulang is to be reincarnated. HSU comes to the lakeshore with worries and curiousity. As expected, he sees a woman accidentally fall into the water sink despite struggling with all her might. As he is hesitating about whether to save her or not, something miraculously pushes her up and onto the shore...

Act III

Experiencing bidding farewell between life and death once again, although HSU survives after nearly losing his life, he feels he has lost reasons to live. Just as he decides to give up everything and quietly leave this place, his neighbors, who usually have little to do with him gift. Though these things seem valueless, they make HSU feel cared for and he realizes that he is not alone after all.
