就像在童話故事中的「從此過著快樂的生活！」……「然後呢？」你我一定想問。
在浦羅柯菲夫的《彼得與狼》、伯恩斯坦的《青少年管絃樂入門》之後，我們也期待很久，「然後呢？」下一件幽默、有趣的青少年管絃樂入門作品在哪裡？當代作曲家寇蘭特的《新音樂的青少年管絃樂入門》與斯尼克特的《誰殺了作曲家！？》不約而同地想承續兩位前輩的足跡，為孩子們以現代的幽默語彙（加一點黑色喜劇成分 ！）帶來新的音樂概念——前者從音樂創作元素：形式、和聲、結構、色彩等入門；後者則由繪本出發，以故事帶入管絃樂器介紹。
在名偵探范德騰的引導下，21世紀的音樂入門，就讓我們「從此過著快樂的音樂生活！」
John Vaughan is a pianist, entertainer, music professor and lecturer based in Taipei, Taiwan 1n 2008, he began a continuing series of seminars on piano music at rhe Taipei Sreinway Center. To dare, he has presenred over 150 lectures ar rhis venue. His performances as soloisr and in collaboration wirh orher well-known insrrumentalisrs have raken him ro every ciry and all 15 counries on rhe island of Taiwan, as well as rhe offshore islands of Penghu and Jinmen. Since February 2011, he has written a column in Performance Arts Review, a monthly periodical. Born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, U.S.A., John received his Masrer's degree from Universiry of rhe Arts in hiladelphia and, in 1993, he was awarded a Docrorare from the Peabody Conservarory of the Johns Hopkins Universiry.
