法國號協奏曲之夜

日前承蒙行政院文化建設委員會及「第六屆文馨獎」評審團頒發「特別獎」予本人，表彰本人對文化藝術的特別貢獻，個人獲知後深覺愧不敢當;因為這只是個人在能力範圍內為社會略盡心力而己，也是發自內心的關懷，談不上特殊貢獻，實在不敢承受外界的溢美，相信社會上其實還有許多人和本人一樣，真誠地願意為這塊土地貢獻己力，那些默默耕耘的無名英雄更值得社會大眾為他們鼓勵與喝采。

本人於「財團法人張榮發基金會」轄下設立長榮交響樂團，係有感於音樂是文化活動不可或缺的一環，提倡音樂也是提昇人文素養的重要途徑，長榮交響樂團盼能致力提昇國內音樂環境，推廣本土音樂，進而將台灣音樂之美推向全世界。

長榮交響樂團今晚如同往常般，安排兩首搶炙人口的台灣民謠改編曲「淡水暮色」及「四季紅」，觀眾可聆賞到清新優雅的台灣小調，有著與歐洲古典樂不同的親切情調。

而擔綱演出「法國號第一號協奏曲」的是現任英國 BBC交響樂團法國號首席及皇家音樂院法國號教授提姆﹒布朗 (Timothy Brown)。法國號協奏曲在國內的音樂會中並不常見，此次由大師級的提姆﹒布朗搭配上大編制的長榮交響樂團共同演出，氣勢自然不同凡響，稱得上是近年來台灣音樂界一大盛事，相信也是國內愛好銅管的樂迷們引頸企盼的。

此外，精彩的節目尚包括波希米亞作曲家斯梅塔納的「交易新娘」序曲，以及李姆斯基﹒柯薩可夫的「天方夜譚」，後者是相當豐富且具變化的交響曲，尤其可一窺樂團各聲部首席獨奏的功力。此場音樂會是長榮交響樂團今(2003)年歲末的重頭戲，希望一向愛護及關心長榮的朋友會喜歡它，更期盼新的一年繼續給予我們支持和鼓勵。

 

The council for Cultural Affairs awarded me the Sixth Wen-Hsing prize for my contribution to culture and art. I am very grateful but shamefaced to deserve such award; I just did what I oughtto do. and what I am capable to do. It's only a sincere care to the society. not the so-called "special contribution".I believe that there are still many numerous people willing to dedicate their efforts to our land. and these nameless heroes are much worthier for applause and encouragement. The Evergreen Symphony Orchestra was established under the Chang Yung Fa Foundation for the purpose of promoting native music and improving the musical environment of Taiwan.Evergreen Symphony Orchestra is not just playing the beautiful melodies but also to show the beauty of Taiwanese music to the whole world. As usual,Evergreen Symphony Orchestra will perform new arrangements of popular folk songs,featuring "Twilight on the Tamsui River" and "Loving the Year round" tonight. The rearranged elegant symphonic version of Taiwanese folk songs will bring you a brand new sense of enjoyment totally different from the traditional classical music. Our soloist tonight for Richard Strauss" “French Horn Concerto No.1"is Timothy Brown. the principal French Horn player of BBCSymphony Orchestra and professor of French Horn at the Royal College of Music. U.K. French Horn Concerto is rarely performed in Taiwan. and this time. Timothy Brown. the master of the French Horn. perform with the Evergreen Symphony. a grand orchestra,could be considered as a great musical event in Taiwan in recent years. And this is also a great performance that brassplayers and fans in Taiwan have been longing for. Besides. our program tonight includes Smetana's "Bartered Bride Overture" and Rimsky-Korsakov's "Sheherezade". Abundant and various movements of "Sheherezade" will show the talent of each principal player performing solo passages. This is a significant concert of Evergreen Symphony Orchestra at the end of 2003. We hope that all our friends will like it and keep on giving your support and encouragement to us in the coming new year.
