明華園戲劇總團《界牌關傳說》

全球表演藝術作品中，從莎翁名劇到希臘悲劇，有許多皆以「愛情」為主題，而這些作品，常常因文化差異呈現出精彩且多樣性的風貌。明華園總團的作品中，亦有本土的愛情故事，但除了在表演方式上延續傳統藝術的的特質外，在主題的表現，則需兼顧了本土性與世界性，方能感動人心。
在明華園總團數以百計的野台戲戲碼中，這次將傳統戲劇中著名的「羅通掃北」的故事，以現代的愛情觀點，融合劇場藝術，新編新詮而成了《界牌關傳說》，製作成一齣感動人心的劇場。
Established in 1929, Ming Hwa Yuan was originally named Ming Hwa Troupe. The founder, Chen Ming-Chi added the word “Yuan” behind “Ming Hwa” later on as a symbol of growth and development into a group or grand troupe; it also carries with it the meaning of “a great family”. Almost the entire immediate and extended family members directly involved in GeZaiXi (Taiwanese Opera) performances and production, becoming a unique group in Taiwan’s performance arts scene.
Guided by the notion of “with 5 main character groups, will travel to 5 continents”, Ming Hwa Yuan performed in diverse venues that range from indoor theatre to temple festivals, department stores and construction sites. Ming Hwa Yuan’s footprint can be found in every nook and corner of Taiwan. The group also work hard to promote the indigenous art form in England, France, Germany, Netherland, Austria, Romania, USA, Canada, Japan, South East Asia, Mainland China and Africa; striving to break down language and cultural barrier, shining a spot light on Taiwan’s GeZaiXi in international stage.
