最近幾年帕奎多的跨界演出也深受歡迎。2003年他參與馬友友【巴西禮讚】的演出與現場錄音，而除了原本爵士與加勒比海樂團的演出，來自於古典室內樂與管絃樂團的作曲與演奏邀約，都不曾讓他停下腳步。2005年帕奎多被象徵美國爵士樂最高榮譽的國家藝術基金會 (NEA)遴選為「爵士大師並由布希總統頒發國家藝術獎章，以表彰他的藝術成就。 帕奎多﹒德里維拉認為演奏過各種音樂，對自己而言最親近的仍然是古巴音樂。同時他也很高興的可以透過創作與表演，將古巴音樂的趣味與悲喜傳達給大眾。
In recent years, D'Rivera is also noted for his crossover performances, including his three chamber compositions recorded live in concert for Yo-Yo Ma's “Obrigado Brazil" project in 2003. In 2005, he became a recipient of the National Medal for the Arts, presented at the White House by President George W. Bush in recognition of hisωtistic achievements and was named one of the NEA (National Endowment for the Arts) Jazz Masters in that same year, the highest honor that the US bestows upon a jazz musician. D'Rivera's works often reveal his widespread and eclectic musical interests, ranging from Afro-Cuban rhythms and melodies, and back to his cIassical origins. In his passion to bring Latin repertoire to greater prorninence, he continuously conveys the spirit of Cuban music through compositions and perfonnances.
