1911年，巴黎歌劇院內部的一些舊物被拿出來拍賣。拍賣會主持人、侍者及出價者都在現場。年已70的拉鳥爾也坐著輪椅前來參加，他買了一張海報及一個音樂盒。當拍賣會主持人展示歌劇院的水晶燈時，他說明這蓋燈與歌劇魅影傳說有關。隨著燈光一閃，觀眾都被帶回到巴黎歌劇院處於巔峰歲月的那個時代。
