Never content to play standards, Redman remains one of the few modem jazz composers intent on breaking musical barriers. By incorporating freely non-jazz elements into his music, Joshua Redman continues to practice the spirit of jazz -improvisation, interaction and spontaneity -and to forge new paths for jazz music. A marquee name on contemporary jazz scene, he had become an icon of tenor saxophonists in the new generation.
