維也納愛樂新年音樂會，每年一月一日於奧地利當地時間上午11點假維也納金色大廳（Musikverein）舉行，並以演奏史特勞斯家族的作品為主，成為維也納愛樂的重要傳統，也是全球樂迷最想朝聖的演出，但現場座位有限，總是在開賣時即銷售一空，因此樂團規劃了向全球轉播的工程，全世界超過九十個國家的電視台加入電視轉播活動，而台灣南部因與維也納當地時差（台灣快七小時）及舒適的冬天氣候關係，獨特條件成為極少能辦理戶外大型轉播的區域，而這也是衛武營連續第十一年辦理戶外轉播。
Vienna New Year's Concert is an annual event occurring at 11am, January 1st, in Musikverein, Vienna. As a tradition for Vienna Philharmonic, the concert programs usually include pieces from the Strauss family, and become the most sought-after performances in the world. Because of the limited availability of seats, the tickets are always sold-out soon after releasing. Vienna Philharmonic thus arranges live screenings around the world, including TV broadcasts of more than 90 countries. Due to the local time difference with Vienna (7 hours earlier) and the mild winter climate, these unique conditions have made southern Taiwan a rare place to host outdoor broadcast, and this is the 11th consecutive year for Weiwuying to hold the live screening.
