戲劇鬼才導演王嘉明與江蘇省崑劇院 施夏明、單雯 再度攜手翻新經典
重現淒美的愛情故事 再掀崑曲新浪潮
《西樓記》描述書生于鵑與青樓女子穆素徽兩人因寫詞曲互相愛慕，在西樓情定終身，爾後備受現實考驗的淒美愛情故事。原著是明末清初袁于令的戲曲代表作，由於故事內容至情動人、音樂格律嚴謹，因而受到很高的評價。2018年臺灣劇場鬼才導演王嘉明與江蘇省崑劇院、施夏明、單雯，再度合作打造崑劇《西樓記》。以當代的觀點切入，透過崑曲表演把最接近人性核心的衝動、情感、愛情、慾望……，轉化昇華成美，重新找回人與人的情感關係和時間的價值觀。
The collaboration between Taiwanese avant-garde director Wang Chia-Ming and the historical Kunqu Opera Troupe shines new light on a classic Chia-Ming Wang, one of Taiwan’s most innovative theatre directors, and Jiangsu Kunqu Opera Theatre, long considered the guardian of an art that dates back to the sixteenth century, will present Tale of the West Tower. This timeless Kunqu opera tells the love story of a young scholar and a courtesan. After falling in love at first sight, their romance is tested by their class divide and the rigid social mores, but they overcome the hardships through their persistence and courage and eventually reunite. Kunqu opera originated in the Ming dynasty and is one of the most elegant and intricate traditional Chinese arts. This modern abridged version explores the bright and dark sides of human existence and the universality of love and desire.
