We've got something to say about the Women of the World Festival! During You Talk, I Sing, let's make a song with Paiwan singer Utjung TJAKIVALID.
"There are a lot of possibilities in life, and you're just behind the times if you still think it's all about only men and women," says TJAKIVALID, who incorporates traditional Paiwan music into electronic music. One of his songs was chosen as the 2017 Universiade theme song, and he played the main role in Alifu, the Prince/ss, a film that spoke up for transgender people. Through his work, he looks to subtly influence the stereotypes society holds of transgender people.
The magnetic TJAKIVALID will be at the Women of the World Festival to create an original song with participants: All you have to do is submit your thoughts in writing on what you think about gender issues, and some of them might be selected as part of the lyrics! Is there something you would like to say but have been unable to? Is there something you just need to tell more people? Let TJAKIVALID sing it out for you!
