艾蜜莉﹒狄更生( 1830-1886)為美國詩人，雖然創作了一千多首詩作，但除了摯友與手足之外，鮮少人在她過世前知曉她不僅寫作，甚至以成為一位詩人為志向。艾蜜莉﹒狄更生清澈、簡潔但卻又深刻的風格，在二十世紀後半葉，再度為世人所重視，成為十九世紀以降，美國最重要的女性文學家之一。
由哥倫比亞女導演派翠西亞﹒亞瑞札創作劇本並且執導的《艾蜜莉﹒狄更生》，三位女演員如同四股毛線在劇中朗誦交織著詩，以聲音、音樂、沉默和身體，探索女詩人的欲望和動機，一窺她奇異而神秘的一生。
Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) was an American poet born in Amherst, Massachusetts. In late 20th century she was regarded one of the most important female authors of the US. The script is created by director Patricia Ariza with three actresses reading out Emily's poems, discussing her life with theatre and dance. The actresses explore between the lines and try to have a glimpse of her desire and motivation as a female poet.
