【2021 Weiwuying Circus Platform】Thunar Circus - Main Agile (Work in Progress)

傳統勞動與農務的身體手路，與當代生活文化有什麼連結？
由臺灣「圓劇團」與法國「傑若・湯瑪士劇團（Compagnie Jérôme Thomas）」聯手共創，以傳統陣頭文化為主題，深入探索具民族特質與地方習俗性的傳統技藝。透過踏查研究與蹲點學習，馬戲人走入民間，親身學習傳統技藝的腳步手路與肢體動作運行，進一步發現慶典祭儀的民俗陣頭動作，是如何從傳統勞動與農務中誕生。從技藝取材經當代轉化，從傳統技藝到當代馬戲。透過階段性探索、實驗與培養，挖掘在地人文故事、土地意象、社群信仰與當代生活，透過馬戲人的身體探循，找出那些經生活與文化的淬煉、塑形，而一步步演變成藝術性的身體動作。那些記憶、生命，與社群生活的連結，都是超乎想像的緊密與關聯。
What is the connection between manual labor and farming techniques and contemporary culture?
Main Agile, jointly created by Thunar Circus in Taiwan and Compagnie Jérôme Thomas in France, takes traditional Din-tao culture as its theme and explores traditional techniques with ethnic characteristics and local customs. Through field research, circus artists enter rural communities to learn first-hand traditional crafts and discover how the ritual movements of Din-tao emerged from labor and farming. To transform traditional techniques into contemporary circus art, this work explore local stories, rural imageries, communal beliefs, and modern life through investigating, experimenting, and cultivating in stages. Through the physical exploration of circus performers, we find the forms that have been refined by life and culture and evolved into art. The connection between memory, life, and community is incredibly close-knit.
