Act I第一幕

Scene 1

A Square in Verona, around the year 1400. Daybreak.

The feud between the city's two powerful families, the Capulets and the Montagues, flares up once more amidst the peaceful citizens. The Duke of Verona puts an end to the fighting and forbids further hostilities at peril of banishment.

城中的兩大家族一卡普里特家族與蒙太格家族的宿怨，再度在平靜的市民生活中引爆;維洛納公爵出面制止這場打鬥並下令禁止更深的仇恨繼續延伸。

Scene II

The Inner Courtyard at the Capulet Palace.

Juliet is teasing her nurse, who tries to explain to her that she is a child no longer. She is introduced to the rich count, Paris, who wants her for his wife

At the Gate to the Palace.

Among a multitude of guests, Juliet meets Romeo. As love a wakens in her, she realizes that her feelings toward Paris are untrue. TybaIt， recognizing his enemy Romeo， unmasks him. Juliet becomes aware that her untroubled childhood is over.

在眾多的賓客中，茱麗葉遇到了羅密歐 ;愛在她的體內甦醒，茱麗葉明白了她對巴里斯侯爵的愛並不真實;提伯特認出了他的敵人一羅密歐，並揭下他的面具;茱麗葉意識到她無慮的童年已經結束。

Scene V

The Garden at the Capulet Palace.

Deep in thought, Juliet lingers at her balcony. She discovers Romeo, who awaits her, hiddenin the shadows of the garden. They both feel thatthier love for each other is pure and strong enough for them to face any dangers.

茱麗葉在陽台上徘迴時發現了躲在花園中正在等她的羅密歐，雙方都覺得對彼此的愛單純且強烈到可令他們面對任何危險。

Act II第二幕

Scene I

The Square. Afternoon.

第一景 午後，廣場

The people are celebrating a saint's day， with processions and dancing. When Romeo appears， Mercutio and Benvolio are disappointed at his abstracted mood. The nurse delivers a letter to Romeo in which Juliet agrees to secretly marry him at the chapel of her confessional priest, Friar Laurentius.

大家正在遊行與跳舞慶祝節慶，馬卡提歐與班夫里歐被剛出現心情低落的羅密歐影響;此時保母送來茱麗葉的一封信，信中告訴羅密歐她願在她告解的神父勞倫斯的教堂中嫁給他。

Scene II

Friar Lauentius' Chapel.

第二景 勞倫斯的教堂

Romeo persuades Laurenti us to wed him to Juliet. After the marriage ceremony , Juliet must return without Romeo to her parents home.

羅密歐說服勞倫斯為他與茱麗葉證婚，婚禮後，茱麗葉必須離開羅密歐回到她父母的家中。

Scene III

The Square. Evening.

第三景 傍晚，廣場

The merrymaking of the townspeople reaches a climax. Tybalt, seeking revenge for Romeo's intrusion upon the ball， quarrels with Mercutio. Romeo, who through his marriage is now a kin to TybaIt， tries to withhold him from the fight. Tybalt, however, kills Mercutio. Mad with fury about the loss of his friend, Romeo stabs Tybalt.

城市中的民眾慶祝的歡愉氣氛正達到最高潮，提伯特欲找羅密歐復仇而與馬卡提歐起了衝突;羅密歐的婚姻讓他與提伯特成為了姻親，因而想停止這場打鬥，但提伯特卻殺死了馬卡提歐，痛失摯友的羅密歐刺死提伯特。

Act III第三幕

Scene I

Juliet’s Bedroom.

第一景 茱麗葉的臥房

Romeo, banned from Verona for killing Tybalt, has spent the wedding night with Juliet. At dawn he flees the town. Juliet's parents have decided to marry Juliet to Paris as soon as possible . Juliet desperately tries to change their minds. At night she leaves the house to beg Friar Laurentius for advice and help.

羅密歐與茱麗葉共度新婚之夜的羅密歐，卻因殺了提伯特而被逐出維洛納，他於破曉時分逃離出城;茱麗葉的父母決定盡快將茱麗葉嫁給巴里斯侯爵，茱麗葉絕望地試著想改變他們的想法，她於夜晚時離家前向勞倫斯尋求建議與幫助。

Scene II

Night.

第二景 夜晚

On her way to Friar Laurentius' chapel, Juliet encounters the ghosts of Mercutio and Tybalt. Fate casts its inevitable shadows ahead.

在茱麗華前往勞倫斯的教堂途中，她遇到了馬卡提歐與提伯特的鬼魂;命運正無情地在前方等待。

Scene III

Friar Laurentius’ Chapel

第三景 勞倫斯的教堂

Friar Laurentius gives Juliet a potion. He tells her it will make her appear dead.

After the funeral she will wake up in the family tomb from which Romeo, warned by Friar Laurentius, shall free her.

勞倫斯給茱麗葉一種食用後會讓她看來猶如假死的毒藥，而在葬禮後，她將會在被勞倫斯告知的羅密歐從墓地中解救清醒過來。

Juliet’s Bedroom.

第四景-茱麗葉的臥房

Coming home, Juliet pretends to agree to her marriage with Paris. When she is left alone, she swallows the potion and falls lifeless on her bed. On the morning of her marriage to Paris, Juliet is found, seemingly dead.

回到家的茱麗葉假裝同意嫁給巴里斯侯爵，當她獨處時便吞下的毒藥並毫無生息地倒臥在床上。在她出嫁的早上，假死的茱麗葉才被發現。

Scene V

The Tomb of the Capulets

第五景 卡普里特家中的花園

Romeo, not having received Friar Laurentius' message, has come back secretly to Verona. Believing Juliet is dead, he kills himself in despair. Juliet wakes up and finds her beloved one. She follows Romeo to a life where no one can part them.

羅密歐並未收到勞倫斯的消息，並已悄悄返回維洛納，他相信茱麗葉已經身亡，所以他便自殺 ;茱麗葉甦醒後發現她的愛人，隨之殉情到再也無人能分離他們的地方。
