2025年適逢國立臺灣交響樂團創團八十週年，為慶祝這個特別的時刻，國臺交於團慶前規劃一系列不同性質的演出，其中「交響大會串」系列依循著「有朋自遠方來，不亦樂乎」的精神，邀請國內具代表性的交響樂團隊共同登臺、以樂會友。
系列一「當孟德爾頌聽見張雨生」邀請2023年至2025年榮獲國藝會Taiwan Top演藝團隊的龍潭愛樂管弦樂團演出，挑選跨時代、跨文化兩位作曲家於弱冠之年寫成之作—孟德爾頌的第4號《義大利》交響曲，及匯集當代創作歌手張雨生作品而成《聽見張雨生》系列組曲，透過西方及東方、19與20世紀不同的視角，以交響樂的方式重新詮釋對浪漫的定義，帶給聽眾一場跨越時空的音樂旅程。

To celebrate the 80 anniversary of the National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra, the 3 concerts of "Symphonic Bouquet" series were arranged and the first of the series is "When Mendelssohn meets Yu-Shen Chang"-combines the 2 pieces -the Italian Symphony composed by Mendelssohn in the romantic era and the "Tribute to Yu-Shen Chang" arranged by Koji Sakurai, wrote and directed by Yung-San Cheng, represented the contemporary pop music, performed by the Long Tan Philharmonic Orchestra to interpret the definition of romanticism between different eras.
