劇情簡介：
時值明末，湯顯祖完成了他最後一個劇本《邯鄲記》......。
離開湯家班年餘的當家女伶，在湯顯祖的邀請下，決定回班排戲。但，除了新劇本之外，她卻多帶了一鍋待煮的「黃梁飯」回到湯家班......。
在湯家班的後台，睽違一年之後的相聚，三位女伶們將《玉茗堂四夢》瘋狂飆演了一回。然而，在扮戲的過程中，三人不為彼此所知的心事、過往，以及她們對於劇場人生的癡迷、理想和抗拒卻被逐漸揭露出來。
究竟是黃粱飯會先熟，還是三位女伶會先自如夢如幻的劇場人生中醒過來？
Xian-Zu Tang completed his latest play The Tale of Handen in the late Ming Dynasty. After having left Tang’s theater for years, the leading actress decided to go back the theater under Xian-Zu Tang’s invitation. Bur, besides the script for the new play, she also brings a pot of raw rice to Tang's theater. Backstage, three actresses go through a crazy rehearsal of Dream on Manuscript after their reunion. However, in the process of rehearsing, their secrets, pasts, passion for theater, ideals, and resistance are gradually unveiled. Will the pot of raw rice boil first or will the three actresses wake up from their delusional theater lives?
