雖然爵士樂在台灣還不是流行音樂的主流之一， 但是這種可以讓人的情感不由自主的融入音樂曲圓的旋律， 對樂迷或愛好者來說， 爵士樂具有「自我解放」特性的曲風， 引導樂迷抒發情感的種媒介， 這是時報在這三年來贊助並參與這項音樂甚至宴的原因。音樂是沒有國界的， 在台灣流行歌壇上，我們希望除了有悅耳動聽， 簡單易學流行歌曲外， 能調有更多的音樂， 在台灣生根發芽甚至是蔚為風尚潮流， 朱宗慶先生的打擊樂曾經風靡時， 帶動不少學習打擊樂器的風氣， 最近國外一些音樂表演團體， 如木琴、小提琴、國際知名的男高吉紛紛相繼來台表演， 我們相信對於國內音樂風氣的提昇， 甚至帶動流行音樂...
