傳統再生的文化軟實力

自2003年起，兩廳院【世界之窗】系列從英國、法國、俄羅斯，到德國，讓國內觀眾有機會以更多元的角度，一窺當代表演藝術領域獨領風騷的豐富多采。今年，兩廳院【世界之窗】將聚焦｢日本｣引進這股日本舞台傳統再生的新能量。

【世界之窗─日本‧潮限定】開幕演出，鈴木忠志即從日本傳統藝能，尤其是能劇當中尋找表演的身體性，開發出一套注重下半身的重心與腰部力量的表演身體訓練體系，使得演員的語言具有強烈的感染力，這正是鈴木忠志從傳統表演當中所獲得的智慧。吉田兄弟的｢新三味線｣賦予傳統器樂新生命，以新編樂曲，搖滾樂風，青春澎湃的活力與創意，讓世界聽見日本傳統的聲音。他們的走紅，奠基於取之不盡、用之不竭的傳統根底。此外，中村京藏的歌舞伎示範講座、日本歌謠之夜，更讓觀眾看見道地的日本傳統文化資產。

從傳統出發，日本的前衛劇場演出也呼應世界表演藝術脈動，無設限舞團創意十足極富歐風的舞蹈作品，在當代藝術領域迅速竄紅的日本影像藝術家黑川良一，涉足編舞、電音、影像、燈光設計的跨界編舞家梅田宏明，都是相當年輕就已經在國際舞台綻放光芒的日本表演藝術新浪潮。

兩廳院【世界之窗日本-朝限定】將展現日本表演藝術全方位的精采，期待台灣的表演藝術工作者汲取日本經驗，以台灣的元素，台灣的經驗，發展出具有台灣在地精神與特色的作品，累積出值得台灣驕傲的文化軟實力。

A Soft Power Deriving From Tradition Since 2003, Taiwan Performing Arts Center ( TPAC ) has been presenting World View series, hoping that the audience in Taiwan could see the richness and colorfulness of modem performing arts. We have had themes ranging from the UK France, Russia to German and this year, we'll be focusing on Japan and its powerful energy deriving from its traditions. It is this exploitation from tradition that TPAC wishes to introduce to Taiwan in the 2009 World View Series -Japan Only For example Tadashi Suzuki who opens the series developed an actor training methodology in the physicality of Noh drama, while Yoshida Brothers injects fresh vigor into a traditional instrument shamisen with their rock-and-roll style composition. The inexhaustibly rich Japanese tradition is no doubt the basis of their artistic achievements. Furthermore, TPAC has also programmed a kabuki seminar led by master Kyozo Nakamura and Nights of Japanese Songs for the audience to see the depth and beauty of Japanese traditional art forms. Also deriving from Japan's tradition is their avant-garde artists, including Noism with their innovative and European-style choreography, the rising star in media art Ryoichi Kurokawa and the talented choreographer Hiroaki Umeda who also composes music and designs images and lighting. These artists all belongs to the new wave in Japanese performing art and draws international attention. TPAC is honored to be the most important venue in Taiwan.
