兩廳院駐館藝術家梁允睿以「橫濱瑪莉」故事為題材，創作一齣以二戰時期「慰安婦」與現代對話的中文原創音樂劇，將一個沈重的歷史故事，用另一個觀點闡述。劇情描述一位身份成謎的女人「瑪莉」，遇到一位想做一件「有故事的衣服」的年輕裁縫師「正太」；瑪莉對正太述說自己的身世，真假虛實交織的對話中，時空拉回戰爭年代，瑪莉也化身故事中不同的女性，窺探亂世中女性的憧憬與失落。 《瑪莉皇后的禮服》劇中時序跨越了將近百年，設計上運用舞台和影像技術，營造時空交替的魔幻場景，帶領觀眾深入瑪莉不為人知的腦內世界，揭示她高貴姿態底下潛藏的真實面貌。故事有如進入「時空旅行」的看戲體驗，呈現電影融接般充滿驚艷的流動感。
The story is about the encounter between Mary, a mysterious woman, and Shota, a young dressmaker who wants to make “a dress with stories.” Mary told Shota her life story, and with dialogues interwoven with truth and fiction, brought the time and space back to the wartime where Mary played different women in the stories. The time frame in The Dress spans nearly a century. With the stage design and video techniques, the production achieves the magic scenes of altering time and space which is unique to the genre of musical, and thus leads the audiences deep into historical sites and fairytale-like domain of fantasy. In term of the costume design, the production tries to create magic visual experience for performers on the stage and to present the transforming and flowing sense full of surprises yet without conflicts as smooth as the lap dissolve in movies.
