經常有人問我“家崑你為何要一直舉辦獨奏會?會賺錢嗎?"而我的答覆是“沒賺錢阿，不賠就好"那就更怪了!你在堅持什麼!這的確是個令人深思的問題!其實是對於自我的要求與堅持如何過人生的態度吧.!舉例來說:對於一位文字工作者或是作家，發表文章、撰寫書籍是他們維持自我的理想與實現，或者說是對於工作的熱忱與挑戰;就如同演奏家或是藝術工作者不斷的上台展演或是發表新的作品。也就是因為有這樣的理想與自我期許，在未來的音樂生涯中還有許多的挑戰與新作品誕生。音樂是如此的令人著迷與狂愛!聆聽音樂會的感動，在於詮釋者的用心耕耘與演繹，一音、一句、一段的不斷反覆練習，以達到趨近完美之境界。透過創新的詮釋，讓樂曲充滿了“喜、怒、哀、樂"的各種音樂表情與情緒。而獨奏者的賣力演出就是要讓聆聽者成動，無論曲目的難度是說增加，演繹者必須克服一切，並且在舞台上發光發熱，散發舞台魅力。
Chen,Jia-Kuen, well known as a romanticism erhu player, also with the reputation as erhu Prince has devoted himself to the development of erhu music. He was instructed by the modern erhu master Hsiao, Bai- Yong, who has had a very great impact on the advance of the modern erhu music. Jia-Kuen concentrates his efforts on the variety and the diversity of the erhu music. His efforts are especially evident on the maturity of his playing techniques, the precise control on nstruments and his unique music style. Audiences are often moved by the insight of his music and by his charm on the stage. His unique music style is derived from his continuous efforts on creation and innovation of new erhu music. Apart from the lassic and traditional erhu collections, he also invites many young talented composers to write pieces with new elements.Also, performing with different layouts in concerts aims to raise some new concepts for traditional erhu routine. He njoys embracing various music elements into his music. For instance, Jazz and electronic music are his favorite mix. By doing so, he experienced a lot of co-performance with many different foreign bands and groups. Their concerts have been held in the US, Japan and Taiwan.
