Introduction – Chu-Han Rivalry and the love story between the XIANG Yu and Consort Yu are immortal and have been favorite subjects for authors and artists over two thousand years.In 2012, after twice cooperation, (“Sacrifice of Snow”, 1980 and “Flying Fish in Silence”, 2007) composer MA Shui-Long and choreographer LIU Feng-Shueh cooperate again. LIU adapts the classic Chinese opera “Xiang Yu and His Concubine”. Which was composed by MA in 1997 into huge dance drama and rename it as “Wielding Sword along Chilly Wujiang”. Replacing the lyrics-singing with instruments-playing, the whole-new dance drama displays the social background, political trickery, and cruel battlefield. In addition, the treacherous and kindness of human nature and the affection of warrior are all shown through the perspective of history. From these viewpoints, one could see the changed and unchanged human nature over thousand years.
