Adapted from 27 Wagons Full of Cotton by American playwright Tennessee Williams, My Baby Doll is the director LIU Shou-you’s acclaimed work for the Directors’ Festival at the 2014 Toga Asian Arts Festival in Japan. This is a comedy depicting human desires and gender politics; a young supervisor at a multinational toy factory meets a vivacious young lady and her avaricious husband. During the investigation of a suspicious fire, the relationship of the trio becomes more tangled, intertwined and increasingly complex…
